Zeb’s Auto Salvage up for sale

Tigerton Wisconsin’s Zeb’s Auto Salvage is up for sale, owner is looking to retire.

We spotted this lone 1950 Buick at Zeb’s Auto Salvage, and it looks pretty complete down to its toothy grin.

For the last year, a “for sale” sign has been posted at Zeb’s Auto Salvage in Tigerton, Wisconsin, with no takers thus far. With owner Mike Kasperek looking to retire, the fate of the yard is unknown. He could sell the property tomorrow and crush the inventory, but Mike is a car guy at heart and is still holding out for hope that he can sell the yard and its contents as a business, complete with the equipment to operate it. However, if an offer on the whole business doesn’t come soon enough, he may eventually be forced to crush the contents.

The yard has about 1500 vehicles with more than half of the cars and trucks dating from the 1930s to the 1960s. The section of the yard for “newer cars” holds some 1970s to 2010s vehicles with the bulk of them dating to the 1980s and 1990s.

Mike is partial to General Motors products, especially Pontiacs, so there are a number of these cars in his yard (especially 1955-1956 examples, which Mike used to restore his own car). However, there is still a hefty amount of FoMoCo and MoPars on hand, and even several independents.

Parts are regularly sold, but Mike will also sell whole cars for parts. He also has several project cars with titles on hand, as well as solid sheet metal he has imported from southern states.

As Mike heads into retirement, the yard’s hours have been reduced to Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings. Appointments by phone can be made for other hours, but it’s recommended to call before making the drive on any day.

There’s still some salvageable trim and other bits on this 1955 Oldsmobile 88 coupe.
